Welcome to The UK Facet Cutters Guild new look website.
Please take a few moments to look around at the wonderful world of
gemstones, and more importantly, how to get the best sparkle, or as
it’s known, ‘fire’ out of them by applying the process of faceting.
I would love to hear comments and maybe suggestions on how to
improve this website so if you feel you have something to add then
why not email me at webmaster@ukfcg.org.
As you can see there are a lot of new changes being made and
some are not quite finished yet, some links don’t work and
buttons not operating.
These I know about already and will be dealt with over time.

Please remember that this is a non profit making organization and
even the time given by the committee and other members is given
freely.

GEMMOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT TO BE AUCTIONED
Fellows & Sons, Birmingham B18 6JA — 10:30 am on
Tuesday 13 April
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity has arisen for you to
acquire some very collectable historic gem testing
instruments rarely seen outside a museum.
A recent review of our extensive archival instrument
collection has been undertaken with a view to freeing some
space for new acquisitions. Certain duplicates have been
identified and by offering these for sale we not only gain
valuable space but also raise funds to invest in new
equipment for Gem-A’s classrooms. Also to be included in
the sale will be teaching equipment that is no longer in use
including some very sought-after sodium lamps, diamond
lamps and refractometers which will be of particular
interest to our members and students.
For full details of the sale visit www.fellows.co.uk/gem-a,
click on the Auction Dates tab, and viewing dates and
times are given under the appropriate sale; click on the
sale title to view the lots (the Gem-A items are lot numbers
383 to 471).
